The R-C Morning Report

by Kurt Hildebrand

The warning not to drink the water from the Topaz Ranch Estates General Improvement District system remains in effect this morning. While the system has been repaired after Sunday’s big line break, the state health department hasn’t cleared it for human consumption yet. That requires two good tests, and since it requires about a day to get results back, that alarm won’t be ringing until this afternoon at the earliest.

We had the first incident of leaving a pet in a hot car on Tuesday up at Carson Valley Plaza. Folks do your animals a favor and leave them at home. It will be easier for them to overcome their separation anxiety if they’re alive.

We cracked 100 degrees in some places, such as the Web site and a few car thermometers, but officially, we didn’t quite make it on Tuesday. That’s OK, it’s supposed to get to 99 degrees today and 100 on Thursday. There’s a heat advisory out in the deserts where highs will head up to 108 degrees in places.
