County commissioners gave County Manager Steve Mokrohisky an A-plus rating, mirroring the county’s recent S&P bond rating. Gardnerville will be showing “Percy Jackson & the Olympians; The Lightning Thief” at “Heritage Park; Behind the Overland” as soon as it gets dark enough to see the movie tonight. If you want more information, call the town at 782-8027. The Old West Trio is performing a free concert 5 p.m. Sunday in Genoa Park. For more about these events and others, pick up today’s copy of The Record-Courier.

The forecast is for hotter and hotter weather over the next few days. Today will seem cool at 89 after the temperature reverses itself to 98 by Tuesday. But it doesn’t look like we’ll crack 100 over the next week or so, according to the forecast. Just to put today’s high in perspective, the record for July 6 is 109 degrees set in 2007.
