The R-C Morning Report
February 17, 2012
The second set of filing dates for the 2012 election is about two weeks out starting on March 5. Anyone interested in seeking one of the more than 30 offices available in Douglas County, including three commissioner and four school board seats has two weeks to belly up to the political bar. Filing ends on March 16.
If you’ve got business with county, state or federal offices it’s best to conduct it today if you don’t want to wait until Tuesday. Monday is President’s Day, when public offices are closed but furniture sellers are wide open. We at The Record-Courier will be on station for the day.
Saturday should be interesting with a chance of scattered rain or snow showers between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. The National Weather Service isn’t expecting much in the way of moisture to fall, but as always, there will be wind. Expect the breeze to be 15 mph, with 25 mph gusts, through the day.
