Douglas County planning commissioners will discuss final revisions to the master plan update today at their meeting this afternoon in the historic courthouse, located at 1616 Eighth St. Planning commissioners meet at 1 p.m.
While the Douglas County School Board starts meeting at 3:30 p.m., the item of most interest won’t be until around 6 p.m. when they discuss the future expansion of Douglas High School. The school board meets in the media center at Douglas High School.
There was a two-vehicle accident at Rubio and Kimmerling Road around 4:30 p.m. Monday evening. A woman was transported to Carson Valley Medical Center after with injuries to her chest and ankle.
Mother Nature may have a Valentine for us in the form of a winter storm due to arrive late tonight. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for western Nevada starting late tonight and lasting through Wednesday morning. The chance for accumulating snow will be greatest between 3 and 8 a.m., so be careful on the commute.
For today, we’ll have the usual balmy weather preceding a storm with partly sunny skies and a high temperature of 47. The wind won’t pick up until around 10 p.m. and as always will be the only certainty in the storm.
