The R-C Morning Report
February 13, 2012
Chains or snow tires are being required on mountain roads, including Highway 50 from Spooner Summit to Stateline, and over all three passes in the Sierra. Down in the valleys, the only restriction is the wind advisory through Washoe Valley, according to SafeTravelUSA
It rained and there’s a light dusting of snow on the west side of the Valley and the wind is howling this morning. But it doesn’t look anywhere near an inch of snow. That dusting is pretty much all we’ll see this morning, according to the forecast. The radar shows the storm tracking northeast with the main body hitting Reno.
The forecast calls for a high temperature today of 38 degrees and an 80 percent chance of snow. Total accumulation today will be less than an inch. The wind should slow down to around 10 mph.
