The R-C Morning Report
February 9, 2012
A 35-year-old Gardnerville man who 86’d his mother from his wedding pleaded no contest to one count of disorderly conduct on Wednesday in connection with the Oct. 17 incident. Justin Lew Harris’ sentence was deferred for a year on the condition that he break no laws. He’s already attending counseling. A charge of coercion was dropped. His attorney, Ron Cauley, said Harris admitted to the charge in order to avoid a trial and any further media involvement in his life. When the story was reported in October it got national attention.
Expect the U.S. Forest Service to continue burning today. They had a pretty good plume going north of Kingsbury Grade on Wednesday afternoon. We’ll let you know if something gets out of hand, or there’s a real fire.
We’ll see sunny skies and temperatures approaching 60 today as another front pushes the warm air out in front of it. The first moisture is due in on Saturday. Then Sunday night there’s a chance of rain followed by a chance of snow down to 4,900 feet on Monday.
