The R-C Morning Report

by Kurt Hildebrand

The relief effort for families who lost their possessions in the propane explosion at the Mountain Warfare Training Center base housing in Coleville on Friday has arrived in Carson Valley. Hamdog’s Justeen Mills said a portion of the sales from Saturday’s dinner at the Gardnerville restaurant will go to help military families. They are also collecting donations 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. over the next few weeks. Justeen suggested gift cards, since the families range from young children to their parents. Household items like pots, pans and towels are also welcome.

According to Justeen, a bank account has been set up for the military families affected by the Coleville blast at Wells Fargo. That bank account in the name Coleville Housingis No. 660-691-1862 for anyone who would like to donate directly.

While it will be sunny today, with a high climbing toward 49, the real news is that more moisture could be headed our way over the weekend. There’s a chance of showers on Saturday and again on Sunday night.
