County commissioners voted to consolidate administration of the four Carson Valley water companies in front of a full house on Thursday night. Residents packed the halls of the courthouse waiting for the hearing, which started at about 6:45 p.m. By around 8 p.m., commissioners decided to administer the four water companies as a unit.
The county also granted a variance to the developers of the Ranch at Gardnerville, allowing them to have driveways open out onto the new collector road Heybourne, which may eventually connect Gilman Avenue to Ironwood. The project has undergone several design changes, which required that the alleyways originally planned for access were removed. That left designers the option of having driveways open onto the main street, something the county engineer’s office opposes.
Some groundhog in Pennsylvania claims there’s going to be six more weeks of winter, but I’d like to see this one start first. There’s a slight chance of rain on Tuesday, still, but otherwise we’re looking at sunny skies and highs in the 40s and 50s. Today’s forecast calls for sunny skies and a high in the upper 40s with a light east wind in the afternoon.
