There’s a big black bar across the Google logo, and Wikepedia is down today in protest of the Stop Online Piracy and Protect IP acts winding their way through Congress. The acts are ostensibly designed to protect copyrights, but most legislative bodies dealing with high technology tend to follow the principle of idea in, garbage out. The sites should be back to normal around 9 p.m.
The Airport Advisory Committee is meeting 5:30 p.m. today in commissioners’ chambers in the historic Douglas County Courthouse. It’s a light meeting. They’ll be electing officers and confirming meeting dates for 2012.
I halfway expect to see that controlled burn in Genoa fanned back to life by the wind today. It’s supposed to be breezy today with the clouds that will allegedly break our dry spell rolling in tonight. We’re looking at 15-25 mph winds gusting to 40 mph. The rain is expected to arrive on Thursday night and stick around until Saturday, when it may change to snow. Unlike Tuesday, it will be warm out and the haze in the air should be dust instead of smoke.
