The R-C Morning Report
January 11, 2012
Building permits were pulled for five single family homes at the Ranch at Gardnerville, and the first new homes are under construction in the 30-unit first phase. Planning commissioners denied a modification to the subdivision on Tuesday evening.
An underground power cable failed in the Gardnerville Ranchos early Tuesday morning, knocking out electricity to about 40 customers near Manhattan Way. The outage began at 5:15 a.m. NV Energy spokesman Karl Walquist said the number of affected customers was down to 15 by Tuesday afternoon and that everyone was expected to be back up by the end of the day on Tuesday.
The count continues with 68 days without measurable precipitation in Minden, and looks like it will hit 75 without even breathing hard. Today’s forecast is for sunny skies, with a high temperature of 46 degrees and a low tonight of 9.
