Douglas County commissioners will discuss the 15-year update of the master plan, bringing forward a resolution to increase sewer rates, and the selection of board members, including planning commissioners. Commissioners meet 1 p.m. today at the historic Minden courthouse, 1616 Eighth St. in Minden.

There’s a vacancy on the Gardnerville Town Board after member Robin Bernhard got a new job in Las Vegas, and moved away. Douglas County commissioners will appoint a new board member. Bernhard was up for election this year, so whoever gets the job will have to face the people pretty quick.

Today looks pretty much like the last five weeks with mostly sunny skies and a high temperature of 65 degrees. We’ll see a cool down on Friday with the highs dropping down to 45 degrees by Saturday, but there’s no moisture in it. Expect the wind to pick up to 5-10 mph today and last through the night.
