The R-C Morning Report
November 30, 2011
It’s going to be a blustery day today, starting at about 10 a.m., with the wind picking up this morning to around 15 mph and then the real gusts starting this afternoon. Expect gusts of up to 30 mph in the Valley through 9 p.m. tonight as a cold front moves into the area. Winds over the Sierra crest will hit 90-110 mph. Once the front passes expect temperatures to drop to colder than normal.
Tonight Carson Valley kicks off the Christmas season with the lighting of the Heritage Park Gazebo in Gardnerville. The weather will be windy, so it will feel like 30 degrees, but that’s still warmer than it’s been in some years. Heritage Park is located along Gilman Avenue behind the Overland. Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m.
A draft of the 2011 master plan is available online for review at the Douglas County Web site. The planning commission will review the draft on Thursday and a public hearing on the plan is scheduled for Dec. 13. Visit http://www.douglascountynv.gov to take a peek.
