A memorial fund has been set up to help with costs associated with the death of Patricia Bosch, who was killed when her pickup went off Power Dam Road and rolled 90 feet down an embankment. The “Patricia Bosch Memorial Fund” is at Bank of the West. Contributions can be sent to: Bank of the West, 2976 N. Carson St., Carson City, NV 89706.
There’s a big brush fire burning in Reno that started just after midnight near Sierra Pine Court. It sounds like it has claimed a half-dozen houses. The Washoe County School District has closed all schools in the Truckee Meadows due to the fire. We’ll find out if we’ve got firefighters going up and how this will affect tonight’s football playoff games.
It looks like this storm is going to fizzle, both from looking outside and at the National Weather Service site. Forecasters say rain is likely before 4 p.m., with the snow level lowering from 6,200 feet down to 5,300 feet. At best we’re looking at a frosting of snow tonight.
The winds will keep up today, so be careful on the roads and leave the Winnebago at home. Expect today’s high to be near 50, which isn’t far from where we are right now. The weekend isn’t going to be as cold as anticipated.
