The R-C Morning Report
November 4, 2011
Snow tires or chains are required over Kingsbury and from Carson City to South Lake Tahoe on Highway 50. Chains are required on Highway 89 between 50 and Hope Valley. Snow tires or chains are also required on Highway 395 from Walker to Bridgeport and most of the way around Lake Tahoe.
I just measured 1.75 inches of snow on the top of my car this morning. It’s cold out, with 25 degrees in Gardnerville. Carson City Airport reported .58 inches of moisture over the past 24 hours, I wouldn’t be surprised to learn Western Carson Valley had a similar result.
There may still be a few snow showers in the Valley before 11 a.m. The sun is forecast to come out today, but it won’t do much good. The high is expected to hit 40 today. Without the cloud cover tonight we’re looking at 19 degrees for the low. Expect more of the same over the weekend.
