A Gardnerville woman faces up to a year in jail this morning on a charge on child neglect after she failed to remove her toddler from a situation where he faced abuse. Kati Villalobos, 21, is scheduled to appear in Douglas County District Court this morning.
Today is Columbus Day, but since we traded it for Nevada Day at the end of the month, state and county offices will be open. Federal offices will be closed and we won’t be getting mail today. Today is also a bank holiday.
Rain is likely today after 11 a.m. Expect mostly cloudy skies with a high temperature near 63. Wind will be out of the west 10-15 mph, gusting to 30 mph. Showers will move on by about 11 p.m. and Tuesday should be sunny and clear. According to the forecast, we’ll see temperatures in the 80s by Friday.
