Douglas County commissioners approved a windmill for Sierra Lutheran High School at their meeting on Thursday. They also agreed with staff that the four Valley water systems could be consolidated into two.
The 1,062-acre Burbank fire cost $1.6 million to fight, but this morning, it’s 75 percent contained and there are only 17 firefighters left patrolling it. Rain and snow on the fire stopped it dead in its tracks.
The rain is gone today, so we’ll see mostly sunny skies with a high temperature of 61 degrees. Winds out of the west 5-10 mph. Minden got down to 29 degrees this morning, which was pretty much as forecast. We got down to 31 degrees in Genoa this morning. The Weather Service is predicting tonight’s low will be above freezing.
