Flags in Nevada are flying at half staff today in memory of Fifth Judicial District Court Judge John Davis. The Nye County judge lost his battle with cancer on Wednesday. Davis started practicing law in Minden after graduating law school in 1972. He served as Smith Valley Justice of the Peace in the early 1980s. Gov. Sandoval ordered flags lowered on Thursday.

The chance of snow has climbed to 40 percent on Sunday, with the storm bringing a slight chance of rain or snow on Saturday night. Expect the wind to pick up on Saturday as the front rolls in.

I’m headed south to Las Vegas today and will be out on Monday, too. Everyone have a great weekend and I’ll see you again in February.
