The R-C Morning Report
January 19, 2011
There’s a wind advisory for Lake Tahoe until 4 a.m. Thursday. The National Weather Service is expecting winds 15-25 mph gusting to 40 mph this afternoon. Down in the Valley, we’re forecast to get winds 5-15 mph gusting up to 25 mph today.
A couple of warm days and a lack of precipitation trimmed the snow pack from double to 1.5 times average. The snow depth at the top of Ebbetts Pass went from 79 inches to 73 inches, though it lost less than half an inch of snow-water equivalent since Friday.
Minden-Tahoe Airport Manager Bobbi Thompson will be hosting a brown bag lunch noon today at the offices of the Civil Air Patrol.
