The R-C Morning Report

by Kurt Hildebrand

A Topaz Ranch Estates man faces up to a year in jail today and an up to $2,000 fine in connection with the death of his 79-year-old mother. Joseph Dean Roybal III, 49, admitted that he’d left his mother, who suffered Alzheimer’s, alone over a weekend while he used methamphetamine. When he came home, he found her dead on the back porch of the house.

Minden cracked another record on Monday hitting 69 degrees, which was enough to squash the old record of 65 degrees. I doubt we’ll be able to get warm enough to break the 69-degree record for today, but there’s always the possibility.

Today expect mostly sunny skies and a high near 63, with a west wind of 5 mph. Anticipate that winter will be back on Wednesday with highs dropping back into the mid-40s.
