The R-C Election Day Morning Report for Nov. 8
Genoa, Nev. — The polls open in Douglas County at 7 a.m. for the 2016 election. While nearly 60 percent of the county’s electorate early voted, that still leaves more than 12,000 active voters to cast a ballot, and I expect most of them will be out doing so.
If you’re voting today, you must go to your polling location. There are only 13 or so across the county, and it doesn’t look like they’ve changed much from the last general election. Information about where you go vote is on your sample ballot or can be found at http://www.govotedouglas.com
Today the polls close at 7 p.m., and The R-C goes to bed at 6 p.m., so come back to http://www.recordcourier.com for results from the election tonight. We’ll publish results in Friday’s edition.
The Ranch at Gardnerville will go before Douglas County Planning commissioners 1 p.m. today seeking a modification on the access to the project from Zerolene Road that would make the road impassable in a 100-year flood according to planners, who are recommending denial.
The apartment proposal for the former Sierra Gourmet Grill lot is going before planning commissioners today, also.
It’s going to be a gorgeous day for an election with sunny skies and a high temperature near 71 degrees. A light breeze will pi8ck up out of the southeast at 5 mph.
