A red flag warning for critical fire weather has been issued starting 2 p.m. today. The National Weather Service is forecasting 15-25 mph, gusting to 35 mph through 9 p.m. Humidity is supposed to drop to 10-15 percent. Expect today’s high temperature to reach 70, with much cooler temperatures on Thursday.

Gardnerville Town Board members voted to move forward with a plan to convert the former Eagle Gas Station property into an entryway for the town. Longtime resident Sondra Condron, whose father Virgil purchased the property in 1958 and was there in 1961 when Shell built the building on the lot, said she was happy they were keeping the building.



Minden Town Board members are scheduled to hear a presentation on the Valley Vision Plan, which will be going to the county commission on Thursday. Gardnerville board members approved the presentation on Tuesday, which calls for the revitalization of the Highway 395 corridor through the two towns.
