Douglas County Planning Commissioners approved a special use permit for Kids and Horses’ property on Esaw. The unanimous vote was met with applause by the baker’s dozen supporters in the audience.
More smoke from the American fire blew into the Valley last night. Today the wind is supposed to be out of the southeast, but will shift back to westerly tonight. The 1,900-acre fire is burning heavy timber south of Interstate 80 almost due west of Tahoe on the north and middle forks of the American River.
Today expect a high near 92 degrees under sunny skies with a 5 mph west wind shifting to the southeast before the morning’s out. All ambiguity will be gone this evening when the wind shifts back to the west at 15-20 mph, with gusts of up to 30 mph. The wind should die down to 5-10 mph after midnight.
