Hodes, 56, was found with the wreckage of his small plane. No information about what caused the plane crash is available.

Twas the day after Christmas and all through the Valley,

The wind was blowing faster than a Danali (or about 100 mph over the peaks)

All the paper put in the trash can with care

Was being sucked out by the breeze and blown everywhere

The Meneley Elementary School wind meter is claiming a high gust of 38 mph in the Ranchos. If mine were working properly, there’s no telling what some of the gusts would have hit.

The Valley is under a high wind warning that runs until 10 p.m. tonight, according to the National Weather Service. Southwest winds of 20-40 mph will be the rule today.

We’re supposed to get some rain today with the probability increasing tonight to 80 percent, but the radar shows the moisture pretty much stopping at the top of the Sierra and then getting shredded.

There’s a snow advisory for above 5,500 feet for Lassen, Eastern Plumas and Eastern Sierra counties in California starting at 10 p.m. and running through 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Surprise, surprise, there’s a high wind warning going through Washoe Valley today, so no taking the R.V. to work this morning. Because they and trailers are prohibited.
