The Icy R-C Morning Report for Dec. 8

Genoa, Nev. — You don't have to head into the mountains to find road controls. Highway 395 is requiring chains or snow tires for its entire length in Douglas County. Highway 88, Kingsbury, Spooner are also under the same controls.

The Nevada Highway Patrol board is duplicating wrecks again, but thee area half dozen different ones despite that, including some with injuries, so be careful on the commute this morning.

We could see some rain snow mix in areas before 7 a.m., increasing highway slickness. The Weather Service is forecasting a chance of black ice, but it looks like there's pleny of the white kind to me.

The winter weather advisory continues until 10 a.m. this morning then expect breezy conditions and a high temperature of 50 degrees.
