A Gardnerville Ranchos woman is scheduled to be sentenced this morning in Douglas County District Court for child endangerment after she admitted driving under the influence of methamphetamine with her five children in the car. Linda Cervantes, 32, is seeking drug court as a condition of probation.

Members off the Genoa Fire Safe Chapter are meeting 6:30 p.m. today to discuss ways to fund their composting site without a their state grant. The compost site cost $10,000-$15,000 and East Fork Fire District has contributed about a third of that.

I don’t see any smoke rising above Kingsbury for the proposed Forest Service burn, which might be a good thing. It’s still out this morning, but the wind will come up at about 9 a.m. and just keep coming up. Expect steady 23 mph winds by 11 a.m., gusting to 40 mph by 2 p.m. We had a fifth of an inch of rain in Genoa over the weekend.
