Travelers over the Sierra should expect delays on Highway 88 and Interstate 80 due to chain controls and an accident. The California Highway Patrol cleared Interstate 80 at 8:10 a.m. after big rigs got stuck going over Donner Summit. Chains or snow tires are required over Highway 88. Highway 50 from Carson over Echo Summit is clear, except for roadwork.
Minden Town Board members meet 5:30 p.m. tonight to discuss a budget of $2,500 for the annual Christmas kickoff weekend and improvements to the water system and capital reserves for the next two fiscal years.
Tonight will see the coldest temperatures since last spring with the low dropping to 33 degrees. The high temperature today is expected to hit 53, with winds 15 mph gusting to 25 mph. Genoa received .4 inches of rain overnight. Woodfords reported .9 inches overnight.
