Taiwanese woman killed in Lake Tahoe wreck

A Taiwanese woman visiting the United States on vacation was killed in a single-vehicle wreck on Highway 50 on Sunday afternoon.

Jiann-Juh Tseng, 72, was driving a Nissan Altima westbound near mile marker 6 at 3:10 p.m. when he left the right side of the highway and struck a tree.

Inside the vehicle with Tseng was his daughter in the right front and his wife Pao-Yi Tseng in the right rear of the Nissan, according to Nevada Highway Patrol spokesman Duncan Dauber.

Tseng's wife was transported to the Barton Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Tseng's daughter was taken to Barton Memorial Hospital where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Impairment is not suspected.
