Suspect jailed in launderette burglaries

Staff Reports

A 46-year-old man was jailed in Carson City on $25,000 bail suspected of several burglaries at laundries in Douglas County and Carson City.

Erick Leroy Rogers was arrested Friday at the Carson City Inn Motel by deputies from Douglas County and Carson City.

Rogers is a suspect in two burglaries at the Village Launderette in Gardnerville.

On Oct. 19 and Nov. 2, a man broke into several washing machine coin boxes at the Gardnerville laundry stealing an undisclosed amount of money.

Village Launderette Owner Jeff Pisciotta said Monday he and his wife had been looking for a vehicle that was seen leaving the Gardnerville laundromat.

“We were checking apartment buildings and hotels in the area when my wife spotted the vehicle,” he said. “She wrote down his license plate with a crayon. I’d love to see the headline, ‘Woman catches criminal with crayon.'”
