Suicide quilt to be on display at meetings

The Nevada Suicide Quilt is a project developed in memory of Nevada residents who have committed suicide.

The quilt will be on display in Carson Valley at suicide prevention assemblies for students and community members next week.

Larry and Cindy Marchant, who lost their 13-year-old son, Eric, to suicide in June, were instrumental in bringing the Yellow Ribbon suicide prevention project and the quilt to the Valley.

The assemblies will be held starting Tuesday, Feb. 9. At 12:29 p.m., at Carson Valley Middle School and a public meeting open to parents and community members at Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School at 7 p.m.

On Wednesday, Feb. 10, meetings will be held at Kingsbury Middle School at 10:30 a.m. and at Whittell High School at 12:50 p.m. and 7 p.m.

On Thursday, Feb. 11, assemblies will be held at PWLMS at 9:10 a.m., 10:03 a.m. and 1:15 p.m.
