Stateline gaming takes big hit in March

Staff Reports

Stateline casino’s winning streak came to a screeching halt in March, dropping 10.95 percent compared to the same month in 2012, according to figures released Friday morning by the Gaming Control Board.

The chief source of Douglas County gaming revenue fell to $11.34 million, compared to $12.73 million in March 2012.

With only one quarter left in the fiscal year, that drop took a bite out of the total win for the year.

However, Stateline’s still running 3.8 percent ahead with $168 million collected since July 1. The gaming win for Stateline in February 2013 was up 7.84 percent to $16.29 million. January 2013 was down slightly, by 2.62 percent to $16.78 millon.

The Carson Valley Area, which includes the East Fork Township and Carson City, posted a 2.02 percent decrease to $8.2 million for the year.

Statewide, the gaming win was up 7.04 percent. The Las Vegas Strip posted a 13.13 percent increase compared to March 2012.
