Stateline gaming posts $1 million decrease over last year

Staff Reports

Stateline casinos saw a $1 million decease in gaming win in November 2011, according to figures released on Monday.

The main source of gaming taxes in Douglas County, the casinos posted a 6.92 percent decrease when compared to November 2010. Stateline casinos raked in $14 million in November 2011, compared to $15 million in the same month in 2010.

That’s a reversal of October’s trend which saw an increase over the previous year. The loss didn’t take much of a bite out of Stateline’s gaming revenue for the year, which is still running 6.71 percent ahead of 2010.

Carson Valley area casinos, which includes all of Douglas County outside of Lake Tahoe, and those in Carson City, posted a 1.11 percent gain compared to November 2010.

Combined, casinos in the Valley and capital took in $7.74 million during the month. So far those areas are running 2.66 percent behind of 2010.

Statewide, the gaming win increased 7.06 percent compared to November 2010. The win for the fiscal year, which began on July 1, has increased 1.09 percent compared to 2010.
