Stateline casinos post another decrease
January 11, 2011
The Stateline casinos continued their downward slide in November, dropping 5.25 percent compared with the same month in 2009.
The chief source of gaming revenue for Douglas County, the casinos pulled in $15.046 million during the month of November, the latest month for which figures are available. Stateline raked in $15.88 million in November 2009.
Even when times were at their best, November tends to be a down month at the Lake, coming before snow brings higher tourist numbers. In November 2005, the Stateline casinos brought in $24.2 million.
Casinos in Carson Valley and Carson City collected $7.65 million during November 2010, according to the Nevada Gaming Control Board. It was one of only two positive numbers in the state. The other was North Las Vegas.
That’s a 2.57 percent increase over November 2009, but short of the $9.34 million taken in during November 2005.
Statewide Nevada reported a 5.87 percent decrease over November 2009. The gaming win is up 2.28 percent so far for the fiscal year.
