Sports Digest: Youth basketball dribble camp offered through Nov. 5
The Carson Valley Basketball Association and the Douglas High basketball program are teaming up to present Dribble Camp from Oct. 8 through Nov. 5.
The camp, which focuses on ball-handling skills, will be 8 to 9:30 a.m. every Saturday in the Douglas High gym.
It is open to boys and girls in first through 12th grade and costs $5 per week.
Clinicians will be Douglas High basketball coaches.

Gridiron Alumni is organizing an alumni football game between players from the Carson and Douglas high schools.
The game will be held in the spring at a date, time and place to be determined, in order to give participants time to condition and practice.
The company has about 100 players between the schools signed up. An informational meeting will be Oct. 7 in the parking lot of Carson High School before the Douglas-Carson football game.

Silver Strike Lanes in the Gardnerville Ranchos has committed to offer “Kids Bowl Free,” a national summer program featured at 950 bowling centers across the county.
It provides children ages 15 and under with two free games of bowling every day all summer through Oct. 15. Shoe rental is not included in the offer.
Participants must be registered by a parent online at kidsbowlfree.com/silverstrike. The Web site will then send coupons weekly via e-mail that can be redeemed at the bowling center.
Silver Strike is one of only two bowling centers in Nevada (the other is in Fernley) to offer the program.
