Six treated in New Year’s Day head-on collision

Six people were taken for treatment after a head-on collision on Dresslerville Road 1 p.m. Saturday.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred when a 1999 Ford Ranger collided with a 2010 Ford van.

According to the report, Jason Peters, 21, of Los Altos, Calif., was westbound when he hit ice and went into the oncoming lane.

Chino Hills, Calif., resident Francisco Enverga, 51, was driving the van with four passengers.

He told investigators he was eastbound on Dresslerville when he saw the pickup headed for him.

Peters told deputies he’d taken chains off his vehicle just before the accident.

Everyone from the two vehicles was transported to Carson Valley Medical Center to be evaluated. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
