Sierra Woodward identified as woman killed in Carson crash
A Carson City woman killed early Sunday morning in a head-on collision on Highway 50 was identified as 26-year-old Sierra Grace Woodward by the Nevada Highway Patrol.
Woodward was a passenger in the Nissan Altima, driven by fellow Carson resident Jason W. Cloutier, 34, when it entered the westbound travel lanes of Highway 50 going the wrong way.
The accident was reported at about 3:28 a.m. just west of Dump Hill in Carson City.
The Nissan ran into a white Ford Taurus, which caught fire, killing the other driver, whose identity has yet to be released.
Cloutier was transported via care flight to Renown with critical injuries.
The westbound and eastbound travel lanes of Highway 50 were closed for approximately 5 hours. At approximately 8:28 a.m. all travel lanes were opened.
It is believed that alcohol is a factor in this accident.
