Sheriff’s sergeant gets credential
Douglas County Sheriff’s Sgt. Steven Orr has recently received the Nationally Credentialed Law Enforcement Officer status. He is the second officer in Douglas County to receive such status.
Orr was hired in June 1982 as a deputy sheriff. He was promoted to investigator in 1987 and to sergeant in 1989. In 1992, he earned his associates in applied science degree in law enforcement. In 1994, he was accepted and attended the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Va.
Currently he is assigned as a patrol division supervisor. He was recently named as the Special Operations Response Team commander, having served with the team since 1984 upon its inception.
