Sheriff’s Office agrees to patrol Forest Service land
July 30, 2012
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Forest Service recently reached an inter-local agreement for Douglas County Sheriff’s Office deputies to patrol U.S. Forest Service land on behalf of the rangers.
Due to the requirements of reaching the rough-terrain areas, an enhanced 4×4 vehicle had to be obtained.
To help outfit a used Sheriff’s Office Jeep to be used for this duty, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received generous parts and equipment donations from several local service shops and auto parts retailers.
Sheriff Ron Pierini thanked donors Carson Valley Transmission, NAPA Auto Parts, Sierra 4×4 & Trailers, Wheeler Screen Printing, Sun King Window Tinting, Rough Country Suspension Systems and Summit Racing.
