Several groups collecting for Northern California fire victims
Save Mart, FoodMaxx, Lucky and Lucky California grocery stores launched a fundraiser Monday collecting monetary donations for the Salvation Army and its relief efforts in Butte County affected by Camp Fire.
Shoppers can donate any amount at checkout and 100 percent of the proceeds will aid local victims.
The donation will be printed on the receipt so shoppers have a record of their tax deductible donation.
All Save Mart, FoodMaxx, Lucky and Lucky California grocery stores in California and Northern Nevada are participating in this fundraiser.
Other area businesses accepting and organizing donations include:
Grocery Outlet, 1831 N. Carson St., Carson City
Intero Alpine Real Estate, 1362 US-395 No. 112B, Gardnerville
Cocomoes, 795 Tillman Lane, Gardnerville
Also, several Coldwell Banker offices in the region are aiding victims of the Camp Fire.
Coldwell Banker Select Real Estate offices in Douglas County, Carson City and Reno are collecting donations to distribute through the Sister Select C21 Real Estate office in Chico, California.
As of Monday afternoon the status of the Select Real Estate & Property Management offices in Paradise was unknown.

Reno, 1170 S. Rock.
Many people have fled their homes with just the clothes on their backs. Needed items include toiletries, bedding, blankets, pillows, sleeping bags, tents, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, soap, towels, wash cloths, socks, underwear, hairbrushes, toothpaste, toothbrushes, air mattresses, new and gently used clothing for adults and youth, baby clothes, jackets, non-perishable food, snacks, water, pet food and gift cards.
Also needed are baby essentials including diapers, formula and baby food. The offices have 50 families and counting who they’re trying to help.
