Search warrant served in Gardnerville on Alpine theft case

A Gardnerville man was arrested Wednesday morning after Alpine and Douglas County sheriff’s deputies served a search warrant at his Village Way home.

Michael Brumley, 29 was taken into custody on five counts of burglary, four counts of petty theft and one count of grand theft in connection with a theft that occurred 5 p.m. Saturday at Kirkwood Mountain Sports.

Resort security reported that Brumley and Steven Lee Biskup were allegedly seen on video removing items from the store. Biskup, 27, was arrested in Kirkwood on Tuesday on a outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

Brumley was booked into Douglas County jail as a fugitive on an Alpine warrant.

According to Alpine County Undersheriff Robert Levy, several items of stolen property and some marijuana was found at Brumley’s home.

The Alpine County District Attorney filed a burglary and a petty theft charge against Biskup.
