Scouts wrap up annual Jamboree

Carson Valley Boy Scouts spent the week in West Virginia on July 19-28 at the 2017 National Jamboree.

Members of Carson Valley Troop 33 joined the Nevada Area Council’s Troop 3328 for the JamboPalooza at the Summit Bechtel Reserve, according to the Nevada Area Council BSA.

Scouts cleaned up an old railroad right-of-way that is now used by bikers and walkers and hikers before attending a speech by President Trump and a concert by Jessie Chris on July 24.

Scouts explored the area on July 25, including Scuba diving and a water obstacle course.

July 26 was STEM day and the troop participated in science activities, including liquid nitrogen bombs and robotics. Afterward, the troop was free to roam the camp and activities.

Scouts also toured Washington D.C.
