Salvation only comes through Jesus Christ
One of the best lies Satan has used to ruin people’s lives is “all roads lead to heaven.” Many people have bought into this untrue statement and idea. The Bible specifically addresses this wrong belief.
Acts 16:30-31 states, ”Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” So they said,” Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” These were Paul’s words about salvation being only through Jesus to the Philippian jailer. Jesus also says in John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Jesus is not too open minded about different ways to God. Actually not open minded at all.
Not only is salvation specific to Jesus Christ’s name, it is also specific to God’s method. It is not by works, we cannot do enough good to gain salvation. Ephesians 2:8, 9 “for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
So we see that no other name, no other living being, past, present or future, can lead us to God and salvation. Abraham, Moses, Paul and Peter cannot save us. Buddha, Muhammad, Joseph Smith cannot save us. Jesus said “I am the way.”
And we also need to understand that all nations and peoples come through one name, Jesus. Ephesians 2:17,18, “He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who are near. For through Him (Jesus) we both have access to the Father by one spirit.” Jew, Greek, African, American, Indian, we all come to God by the same name.
It is through Jesus Christ, and his death, burial and resurrection that He has provided access to God the Father in heaven.
So many people try to lay another foundation for salvation, for example; the doing of good works, living a decent, honorable life, or going to church. These things are good things, but they won’t get you to heaven. 1 Corinthians 3:11, “For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
In 1 John 5:11-12, “And this is the testimony: That God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” So we see that it is an eternal disaster to look anywhere else for salvation, for “he” who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
So if you understand the need for salvation, go to the one who died and yet lives, He has made the way to salvation open and free for all. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.
