Rotary donates Aces tickets to Austin’s House
The Tahoe Douglas Rotary Club recently donated $500 to purchase 50 tickets for children to attend Austin’s House Night at Aces Ballpark on July 8 when the Reno Aces play the Las Vegas 51’s at 7:05 p.m.
Members of the three teams of the Carson Valley Little League’s new Junior League will be attending the game with siblings and parents thanks to Rotary. This is the first year for the Junior League that features 13-and 14-year-old players.
The Tahoe Douglas Rotary Club has been a supporter of Austin’s House since the very beginning of the idea to start an emergency shelter in Douglas County for local children in crisis. It was a donation from the club in June 2004 that propelled the Austin’s House project to really get started.
“We are proud to support a great cause like Austin’s House,” said President Todd Poth.
A limited number of tickets for Austin’s House Night at Aces Ballpark are still are available for $10 each. Half of each ticket sold goes directly to benefit Austin’s House.
This event is part of the Reno Aces program to promote local nonprofit groups. Austin’s House will be recognized with a pre-game on-field check presentation and a post-game group photo. There will be a special table set up on the concourse level of the ballpark in section 110-112 to inform all fans about the Austin’s House mission to provide compassionate care to local children in crisis. A special Reno Aces basket will be raffled off that includes vouchers for ten infield reserved tickets to a future Aces game, a baseball autographed by the team, a behind-the-scenes ballpark tour for five and Aces merchandise.
