Ranchos board to look at sewer hookup funding
The Gardnerville Ranchos General Improvement District will continue to discuss the septic-to-sewer conversion at its Wednesday night meeting.
The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the district office at 931 Mitch Drive.
The trustees will be discussing using district funds to finance some sewer conversions and using Western Title as a collection agent.
The criteria and terms will also be set for those loans, including interest rates.
“I don’t think we’ll have a problem with them setting up financing, but I need them to set up terms for it,” said District Manager Bob Spellberg. “If they want to make it affordable for these people, they’ll need to stretch out the payments.”
Spellberg said certified letters will be sent out to those who are applying for grant money to help them pay for the switch to the sewer system.
He said the form is a income verification, similar to the one residents filled out in January.
This form has to be returned by Aug. 25 to be considered for Community Development Block Grant money.
n Pleasantview improvements. Pleasantview, phase seven improvements will be voted on at the meeting. Spellberg said trustees toured the area this week and have to approve the sewer and roads before the developer will be able to start building houses.
The board will hear ideas about improving drainage around C.C. Meneley School on Mitch Drive and Muir Road.
The trustees will also discuss putting in a stop sign at Pleasantview and Springfield Drive. The stop sign is being requested by the Pleasantview Homeowners Association.
