Park development proposal goes to Gardnerville
A proposed development on Park land adjacent to Gardnerville will appear in public for the first time on Tuesday, according to the town.
Park Ranch Holdings is seeking a master plan amendment and a zoning map amendment to extend the Minden-Gardnerville Community Plan and service area that will change 266 acres from agriculture to single family residential, 485 acres of receiving area, 105 acres of rural residential and 40 acres of industrial.
The Parks are also seeking the realignment of Muller Parkway to eliminate the large reverse curves in the present plan.
The property is north of Chichester Estates and east of Minden Elementary School.
A similar proposal was presented to the county in 2008. County commissioners voted 4-1 in November 2008 to deny the land use request from Park Cattle Co. to change more than 1,200 acres from agriculture to receiving area.
Under that proposal, 4,500 homes would be permitted on the property.
