Origami coming to library program

Staff reports

Origami cranes will be featured at the Douglas County Public Library summer reading program special event on Wednesday, July 28, at Minden Park.

Dennis Little has volunteered at the library for many years, sharing his hobby of Japanese paperfolding. Little tells the history of origami and shares many of his projects. Children have made fish, Olympic medals and boxes, to name a few of the items he has instructed program participants in the past.

Children and adults are welcome. Parents may help the younger children with their project. The fun begins at 4 p.m. in Minden Park.

“Reading is a Fine Art” is the theme for the 1999 summer reading program. There is still time to register and finish the program.
