Nutritional company to hire six people in job fair

A nutritional supplement company moving to Minden is offering six full-time jobs in a county that has suffered chronic unemployment.

Life Enhancement Products, Inc., is hosting a job fair 3-6 p.m. Thursday at its new facility, 2555 Business Parkway, in the Carson Valley Business Park off Johnson Lane.

The company designs, manufactures and markets nutritional supplements by mail order, web sales, private labels, distributorships and affiliate programs.

Mark Beardslee, vice president of operations, said in a phone interview Monday that Life Enhancement Products has already hired six locals for customer service and buying and shipping positions.

He said they’re currently looking for five production workers and one office clerk.

“We will be interviewing on the spot, so bring resumes,” he said. “I imagine we will be calling people on Friday morning. We’re looking for people to start working the following Monday.”

Beardslee said the company prefers applicants with some production experience and the equivalent of a high school diploma. Wages for the production positions start around $11 an hour, he said.

“All positions are full-time positions,” he said. “We offer a basic benefits package.”

Currently based in the Bay Area with about 20 employees, the company hopes to be fully relocated to Minden by the first of August.

“The trucks will be rolling in Monday,” Beardslee said. “We’ll need help unloading and setting up the shelving. Our last day of operation in California is July 27.”

Beardslee said the company has been satisfied with the workforce in Carson Valley.

“The company bought the building,” he said. “We’re pretty happy with everyone we’ve brought on.”
