Noticing patterns can be interesting

by Bridgette DeBoer

Every thing is part of a pattern. Every thought, deed and action is part of an old or a new pattern. The people in our lives are part of a pattern. Nature, the weather and the universe flows in patterns. Let’s talk about patterns.

When we pay attention to the patterns in our lives we see a bigger picture. As we continue to rise above details, circumstances and judgments we can notice even our patterns have patterns.

When we pay attention to how we think, feel and behave we have a desire for growth. Growing is much easier when we notice that some of our patterns come up more often, maybe even every day. Hmm… that’s interesting. I wonder why that is? By asking this question you’ve just opened up your experience to something greater… more knowledge. You have already accepted your thought, emotional process or behavior and moved on to a higher form of education.

Keep in mind it’s not always about the constant examination. Once a new realization is noticed it’s important to take a little time to sit with this new information. Let it resonate for a while. There is no need to push the process of patterns. Simply noticing them is very powerful.

We learn through our patterns. We are always learning. We even have patterns in the way we learn. Some of us learn through patterns of fear. The interesting part is that if you are someone who learns through fear that pattern can change. Surrender and faith in something bigger than you can help ease this fear.

Sometimes the process is slow and other times more rapid. When our defenses are down and we allow and accept this process, the growth tends to be more rapid and as a result, exponentially more pleasurable. If we are going to ride the waves of life it might as well be fun. Right?
