No Stress Express donated $1,000 to the Douglas campus of Western Nevada Community College this week.

According to owner Bob Fairman, “We figure it’s a community effort, and we want to be part of the community. Bill, myself and the drivers, we feel it (the college campus) is growing and needs community support.”

Bill White, who is the No Stress Express Gardnerville coordinator, was the one who came up with the idea of donating to the college, Fairman added.

No Stress Express has been offering a scheduled bus service to the Reno airport and other points in south and north Lake Tahoe and Carson City areas for two years.

A fare to the Reno airport is $26. The bus departs five times a day from Sharkey’s in Gardnerville and Carson Valley Inn in Minden. To get a ride for a particular flight, call 885-7550, and No Stress Express staff members will determine which bus to take to be at the airport on time.

A trip to Carson City costs $11. The company can also be reached on the Internet at, Fairman said.

The Douglas County Task Force which has been raising money for the college campus now under construction at Bently Science Park is closing in on the last $150,000 needed for the $2.3 million project, says chair Steve Lewis.

The land was donated by Don Bently and the campus will be known as Bently Hall. For information, call the Douglas center at 782-2413.
