New Newsmaker series begins

Staff reports

first of three new editions of the Business Council of Douglas County’s Newsmakers program will begin airing on Monday, July 28. The show will air through Aug. 5.

The series of shows are the panel discussions presented at the fifth annual Critical Issues Conferences on the Minden-Tahoe Airport presented by the BCDC in June.

“The response to the conference was tremendous. Based on the comments and amount of information presented during the three panels, we believed the public will be interested in viewing the material,” said Sandy Cable, executive director.

The first discussion focuses on the history, facilities and master plan and land use potential for the Minden-Tahoe Airport. Panelists include County Manager Dan Holler, Operations Manager Jim Braswell, Airport Operations Technician Vic Redding and Harold Parks, airport advisory board member.

Newsmakers can be seen on TCI Channel 26 in Carson Valley. The show airs daily at 7 p.m., 1 a.m., 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Newsmakers is also aired on TCI at Lake Tahoe and Cable Access Television Channel 10 in Carson City.

Newsmakers is underwritten by members of the Business Council with program scheduling handled through the council’s administrative office. For more information regarding Newsmakers, call the BCDC office at 782-6715.
