Capt. Jim Halsey, Sheriff Ron Pierini, new Deputy Todd Sampson and Undersheriff Paul Howell.

Todd Sampson was sworn in Feb. 13 as a Douglas County Sheriff's Deputy.

Sampson worked for the Orange County Sheriff's Office from 1990-93 before transferring to the Torrance Police Department in Torrance, Calif. until 2004. In 2004 Sampson moved to the Carson Valley to pursue a kitchen and bath design-build business.

Sampson has four grown children, including Matt Sampson, also a Douglas County Sheriff's deputy.

He has a degree in occupational studies from California State University, Long Beach. He is assigned to the Jail Division.
